KMV organises a workshop on Film Studies

Jalandhar April 21 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a workshop on Film Studies. The workshop was jointly organised by Post Graduate Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Post Graduate Department of Animation and Post Graduate Department of English. This workshop organised on the occasion of World Creativity and Innovation Day had Mr. Ravi Dawla, a renowned film director, FTII, Pune, Maharashtra as the resource person.

While addressing the students, Mr. Ravi Dawla described film as an important medium of mass communication and at the same time described it as a social mirror. Throwing light on the process of film making, Mr. Ravi told the students about the selection of a subject, a good script, selection of actors, proper location, budget, shooting etc. as well as film editing and distribution. Along with explaining the importance of various shots, sequences and scenes during film shooting, he also discussed about the symbols, reality and fiction of the subject.

Along with this, at the end, he also gave answers to the various questions asked by the students in a very eloquent manner. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi expressed her gratitude to Mr. Ravi Dawla for providing important information about the subject to the students and also lauded the efforts made by the PG Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Animation Department and PG Department of English for this successful event.
