Jalandhar March 9 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) in collaboration with the Police Commissionerate, Jalandhar organised an awareness seminar on Women Empowerment, Women Helpline Number and Prevention of Cyber crime. The seminar was organised jointly by Student Welfare Department, Post Graduate Department of English and Post Graduate Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. In this event Mr. Damanbir Singh, P.P.S., A.C.P. North, Police Commissionerate, Jalandhar attended was the chief guest. Also present on the occasion were Inspector Gurdeep Lal, Incharge, District Sanjh Centre, Jalandhar, Inspector Sanjeev Kumar Bhanot, Incharge, Subdivision Central and North Sanjh Centre, Jalandhar, Mr. Raghubir Singh, Incharge, Cyber Crime Cell, Commissionerate, Jalandhar and Mrs. Praveen Abrol, President, Divya Drishti NGO.

Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi welcoming all the guests present in this program averred that at present the condition of women at the international level is satisfactory. By getting proper education, women are setting an example in every field by making a different identity with their hard workand dedication. Along with this, she informed everyone about the incredible work being done by Kanya Maha Vidyalaya in the field of women empowerment and higher education since its inception. Addressing on the occasion, Mr. Damanbir Singh clarified his facts by talking in detail about women empowerment, gender equality, equal education and employment opportunities for women in the society, etc. through his power point presentation.

Mr. Raghubir Singh informed everyone about the increase of cyber crime

Mr. Raghubir Singh informed everyone about the increase of cyber crime and the harm caused by various online frauds, fake phone calls etc. to the society and the need to prevent it. Mrs Parveen Abrol addressing the students motivated them to inculcate self confidence in themselves so that they may be able to succeed in their lives against all situations. During the conclusion, many inquisitive students asked various queries from the resource person which were eloquently answered by the guests. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr. Madhumeet, Head, PG Department of English and Dean, Department of Student Welfare and all the faculty members of PG Department of Journalism & Mass Communication for successfully organising the seminar.
