Jalandhar June 10 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) along with the academics, also give foremost importance to the sports, as a result of which the students are continuously winning medals and prizes with their excellent performance in various games at the national and international level. In this series, national level gold medalist softball players of KMV, Ramandeep Kaur, Heera Kumari, Madhavi and Prakash Kaur, were honoured by the Punjab Sports Department for their excellent performance in sports. In this respect, they were also given an amount of 5 lakhs (each) for their brilliant performance.
It is notable that these meritorious students have represented Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and Punjab state in various competitions and have received various medals from time to time. Along with them, Heera Kumari and Madhavi have also represented India in the Asian Softball Championship.Principal Prof. Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the champions on their brilliant achievements. She averred that players at KMV are provided many facilities which include free education, hostel, mess & transport facilities. They avail a lot from state of the art infrastructure comprising Gymnasium, Health Club, Swimming Pool and sprawling play grounds.
All these exceptional facilities elicit such excellent outcomes. Prof. Dwivedi also adumbrated that KMV will continue to provide these facilities to the students who continue to prove their mettle in sports arena. All the achievers extended their gratitude towards KMV and said that it is only due to the able guidance provided by Principal Prof Atima Sharma Dwivedi and teachers that theywere able to achieve this height of success. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Department of Physical Education for this achievement.
