Jalandhar January 25 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- NSS units and Red Ribbon Club of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar celebrated National Voters Day to make the youth aware about the significance of voting. The Chief Guest of the event was famous social worker Sh. Surinder Saini. Principal Dr Gurpinder Singh Samra in his message said that voting is a very important step towards nation building. He asserted that today’s youth should be enabled and given the responsibility of making right decisions and voting is one of those.
Resource person Mr Saini, District SVEEP member, said that it is the right of everyone to cast his/her vote. He added that these interactive sessions provide an impetus to broad thinking that voting should be done without considering religion, community and caste of the candidate. Then, all took the pledge to vote without any fear or greed. Chief Program Officer Prof Satpal Singh informed that a speaking activity was also conducted on My Vote My Right. Volunteers Ekta Pandey and Lovepreet Kaur were given medals for their speeches. During this event District Coordinator NYKS Mr. Nityanand Yadav, PO Dr. Amandeep Kaur, PO Dr. Navneet Arora and PO Dr Priyank Sharda and NSS volunteers were present.
