KMV celebrates National Mathematics Day

Jalandhar December 22 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) celebrated National Mathematics Day to mark the 134th Birth Anniversary of legendary Indian Mathematician Srinivasan Ramanujan. The celebration was organised by PG Department of Mathematics. An intra class Rangoli and Poetical Composition Competition was organised on the “Life and Achievements of S.Ramanujan”.More than 60 students of KMV Collegiate school, B.Sc (Hons) Maths and M.Sc (Maths) participated in both the events. In Collegiate school, Radhika and Vanshika from +1 (NM) got the first prize. In (Hons) Maths, Anjali, Mandeep and Kiranjot Kaur from B.Sc (Hons) Maths – Sem III got second prize. In M.Sc (Maths)- Sem I & III, Priya and Davinder got first prize, Amanpreet and Isha got the second prize.In Poetical Composition Competition,Vajinder Kaur from B.Sc (Hons) Maths-Sem III got the first prize and Amanpreet Kaur from B.Sc (Hons) Maths- Sem I got the second prize.Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated all the winners & lauded the efforts of Mrs. Veena Deepak, Head, PG Department of Mathematics for organising such events for broadening the student’s horizon and vision for Mathematics.
