Jalandhar March 27 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- “National Science Day” was celebrated by the departments of sciences, Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar in collaboration with “Punjab State Council for Science and Technology” with the theme “Global Science for Global Being”. Dr. Palwinder Singh, Professor, Department of Chemistry, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, attended the event as the chief guest and keynote speaker. He was welcomed with bouquets by the Principal Prof. Jasreen Kaur and the heads of the departments of Sciences.
On this occasion, Principal Prof. Jasreen Kaur congratulated all the teachers and students on Science Day and presented her views on the importance of science in human life. She said that today’s world is appears developed only because of science. She said that the student should look at life with a scientific perspective while being interested in research and study in the field of science.
On this occasion, the chief guest and keynote speaker Prof. Palwinder Singh expressed his views regarding the importance of celebrating Science Day and expressed his views regarding the human concerns of science. He said that the main purpose of science should be to make the life of the humans better. It should be for human development and not destruction. 120 students from different colleges participated in the event.

On this occasion, inter-college quiz, power point presentation, rangoli, debate and poster presentation competitions were organized for the students in which the first place in debate was taken by Navdeep and Tanu, CT Institute Shahpur, second place: Mansi Bhatt and Tanuja Verma, Government Education College Jalandhar, third place: Jaskiran Singh LKC and Aman Thakur Doaba College Jalandhar, in Rangoli 1st position was won by Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar, 2nd by DAV College, Jalandhar, 3rd place by Lyallpur Khalsa College of Education, Jalandhar.
