Jalandhar August 13 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- NCC Cadets of PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar held ‘Tiranga Yatra‘ as a part of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign and ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to celebrate 75 Years of India’s Independence. Principal Prof (Dr.) Pooja Prashar flagged off the rally. The rally initiated from the college gate under the able guidance of Associate NCC Officer, Lieutenant Priya Mahajan and Shri Surinder Saini, General Secretary, Jalandhar Welfare Society. The procession passed through Bhagat Singh Chowk, Shastri Market, Punj Peer Chowk, Phagwara Gate, Central Town, Ladowali Road and ended at Alaska Chowk.
All cadets hoisted miniature Indian flags, raised posters and displayed slogans. The cadets paid homage to Shaheed- E- Azam at Bhagat Singh Chownk and Freedom Fighter Shri Ajit Saini Ji at Alaska Chowk. The objective of this yatra was to instill a feeling of patriotism, national pride and a sense of belonging. The cadets took a pledge of allegiance to the nation that they will always be in the forefront to safeguard the honour and integrity of Tiranga.
Members of the managing committee and Principal applauded the endeavours of team NCC and Lieutenant Priya Mahajan. On this ocassion, other members of Jalandhar Welfare Society, Shri Rakesh Khillon, Shri H.S Kalra and Shri Aman Gupta Nirma also participated in the rally and encouraged our cadets.
