
Jalandhar February 24 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- NSS unit Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar organized a one day meditation camp for students and faculty to enable them to cope with stress and anxiety. The resource person was Mr Ravi Kinnra and Ms Swarcha Mehra, Trainers from Heartfulness NGO. Chief Guest of the event was Principal Jasreen Kaur.
After the formal welcome of the speakers, an interactive session on “Art of Listening” was organized by Mr Ravi Kinnra. In his speech, he emphasized that we need to develop the habit of listening to others as well as to self. He discussed various ways of inculcating this routine. He added that it helps to find a solution by talking to yourself in difficult situations.
Then, second speaker Ms. Swarcha Mehra took a practical session on meditation. She focused on channelizing one’s inner energy to block the negative thoughts and focus on self. She asserted that by regular meditation, one can improve his/her concentration and get relief from stress issues. During the practical session, she made the audience focus on inner energy through their close eyes.
Principal Prof. Jasreen Kaur, in her address motivated the youngsters to listen to what the elders say with focus as they have the experience which can be fruitful to shape their future and help them cope with stress related issues. At the end, NSS PO Satpal Singh paid vote of thanks. During this camp, Dean Sports, Dr. SS Bains, PO Dr. Amandeep Kaur, PO Dr. Heminder Singh, Dr. Navjot Kaur, Dr. Vikas Kumar, Dr. Harshveer and around 103 volunteers and students were present.
