Jalandhar November 4 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- To commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, National Unity Day was celebrated by NSS units at Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. It was a multi activity celebration like Unity run, National Unity Pledge and Speech contest. Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra green signalled the unity run from college gate. In his address, he emphasised that a country can face internal as well as external challenges pertaining to national security with ease, if its youth has the sense of unity and solidarity.
NSS Program officer Porf. Satpal Singh informed that volunteers, during their unity run, raised slogans of national unity and Sardar Patel to make the people aware of the importance of the day. Then, a national unity pledge was organized where more than 100 students pledged to contribute their part in national security. In the afternoon, a speech contest on the topics National Unity and Solidarity and Life and Contribution of Sardar Patel was organized. Principal Dr. G.S. Samra felicitated the winners of the event: Ekta, Sakshi, Shonj and Balpreet Kaur. During this event, Prof. Surinder Pal Mand and Prof. Bhawna were present.
