Jalandhar October 20 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- On the second day of Diwali fair organized by the joint effort of Departments of Design, Fine Arts, Applied Art, Sculpture, Home Science and Student Welfare Association at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, there was a lot of enthusiasm amongst all. Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra, while expressing her happiness over the immense success of the Diwali Mela, said that the students were very excited about the sales of the products which they had been making for last one month. The students in fact resolved to put up more stalls in the coming year so that people with artistic aptitude can get all the diwali items under one roof.

On the occasion of Diwali fair, Mrs. Seema Anand Chopra of Hindi News Group and Vice President of Indian Society for Authors, a frontline social worker, was also present. She not only asked for information about the products made by him and appreciated their efforts, but also bought few things from many stalls and also shared with them special tips for entrepreneurship.

Also, Mr. Virendra Sharma, Director of Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Government of India and his Assistant Director Mr. Kundan Lal were present. Expressing happiness over the efforts made by the students, they said that undoubtedly these students have the potential to become successful businessmen of the future.

A Rangoli competition was organized by Student Welfare Association

A Rangoli competition was organized by Student Welfare Association on the second day of Diwali fair in which 9 teams of two students each from different departments of the college participated. The role of the judges for the Rangoli competition was played by Dr. Gagan Gambhir, Ms. Monika Anand and Ms. Amandeep. In this competition Rajat and Prisha Aggarwal of B.Com 3rd semester got first prize, Shruti Talwar and Vanshita Arora of B.Sc. Economics 5th semester got second prize and third prize was won by BA 3rd semester’s and B VOC 3rd semester’s Nishtha and Riti Ahuja respectively third prize and B.Com 1st semester.

Nandin Luther and Amnick of B.Com Semester 1st received the Consolation Award. On the second day of Diwali fair, teachers and students showed great interest in nail art as well as getting tattoo art done. On the grand conclusion of Diwali Mela, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra expressed happiness and appreciated the efforts of the faculty of BD, Applied Art, Fine Arts, Home Science, the entire team of Sculpture and Student Welfare Association.
