
Jalandhar June 26 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar celebrated International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. This day is celebrated every year on June 26 to strengthen action and cooperation in achieving a world free of drug abuse. On this occasion, several activities were conducted under the Buddy Programme of the college. The prominent among these was a rally by the college students to spread awareness against Drug Abuse and its adverse effects on the individual, society and the nation at large.
About fifty students participated enthusiastically in this rally holding placards and posters highlighting ill-effects of drug abuse in a graphic way. The purpose of this activity was to generate awareness among students against drug abuse. In addition, students also took pledge to keep society free from the menace of drugs and also took on the task to spread awareness against this social evil in the society.
The honourable President of the college managing committee Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice-President Shri Vinod Dada, the other honourable members of the Managing Committee and the worthy Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar encouraged all the students to keep participating in such activities for the betterment and upliftment of the society and motivated them to keep spreading awareness against drug abuse in the society.
