Rajeshwari Sangeet Academy celebrated 5th Rajeshwari Kala Mahotsav


Jalandhar May 1 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Rajeshwari Sangeet Academy celebrated 5th Rajeshwari Kala Mahotsav with great gush and pomp with the motto to celebrate and promote art and its various shades. The grandeur evening began with Dr. Sucharita Sharma’s (Pro Vice Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University, Director, Apeejay Education Society & Senior Education Advisor, Rajeshwari Sangeet Academy Trust) warm welcome address where she graciously welcomed Madam Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia (Co-Promoter & President, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group; President Apeejay Education Society; Co-Founder & Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University) and expressed her gratitude for her splendid presence and giving all the art lovers and professionals such covetous platform to showcase their talent.

She added that the charismatic and progressive vision of Esteemed Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, President Apeejay Education Society is the reckoning force and her intellectual acumen, positivity, dedication, phenomenal leadership and entrepreneurship par excellence are highly inspiring and motivating for all of us.

She also extended warm welcome towards Padma Shree Hans Raj Hans, a reverend Sufi Singer, member Lok Sabha and recipient of Rajeshwari honour, Dr. Sidharth, an acclaimed and prominent visual artist of international stature, Dr. Jaspal Singh, an established judge of art exhibitions of international stature and Mr. Bhavani Kotch from Paris.

A reverend lamp was lighted by Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, Mr. Hans Raj Hans, Dr. Sidharth, Dr. Jaspal Singh, Mr. Bhavani Kotch, Dr. Sucharita Sharma and Dr. Neerja Dhingra to commemorate the splendid evening.

Madam Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia putting forth her views

On this occasion, esteemed Madam Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia putting forth her views said that she pays regards to her father Dr. Stya Paul Ji as her first guru who had taught her the art of living life to its full and making it worth. Remembering her mother Rajeshwari Ji, she said she was an artist who could play harmonium, sing and was also an illustrious Kathak dancer. She was an inspiration and muse for her father who with his far-sighted vision had taught vocational skills to the students five decades ago, the skills which we talk about today. She also released the brochure of 5th Rajeshwari Kala Mahotsav.

Receiving special Rajeshwari honour, PadmaShree, Hans Raj Hans said that it is his good fortune that he has been chosen for such extraordinary honour. He also put forth that Sufism lives within him. Expressing his gratitude on receiving Rajeshwari honour, Dr. Sidharth said that to share the stage with Hans Raj Ji is in its own an honour and he said he is grateful to the Divine power for he has taken birth as an artist and that through his art he has been able to make a difference in people’s lives and put smiles on their faces.

Dr. Jaspal Singh and Mr. Bhavani Kotch expressed their gratitude towards Madam Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia for being chosen as reverend judges on this auspicious occasion.

An online international exhibition was organized

An online international exhibition was organized for this occasion, of which the audience enjoyed the virtual tour. From the entire world, 250 artists had participated in this exhibition and had showcased their talent through paintings, sculptures, print making, digital art, photography and drawings. The top 100 art works were short listed by the esteemed judges which were divided in two categories- professional artists and amateurs. 6 artists of exemplary stature were given cash prizes & certificates and 8 artists received appreciation certificate for their art works.

In Professional Artists category, Ms. Shobha Chowdhary (Karnataka) for Painting, Mr. Rakesh Bani (Kurukshetra) for Print Making and Mr. Mangesh Narayan Rao Kale (Puna) for Painting were the award winners where as Mr. Jaspreet Singh (Punjab) for Painting, Mr. Chand Mohammad (New Delhi) for Charcoal Drawing, Dr. Arjun Kumar (Chitkara University) for Painting and Mr. Rabi Narayan Gupta (Chhattisgarh) for Graphics received Appreciation certificates.

In amateur category, Mr. Andrasphra K Mawlong (Meghalaya) for terracotta and glass, Rachna Gopa Kumar (Bengaluru) for Graphics, Ms. Tarnnum Gupta (Punjab) for Photography were the award winners where as Mr. Harshal Khatri (Ujjain) for Painting, Mr. Kunj Arora (Punjab) for Photography, Ms. Inderpreet Kaur (Punjab) for Sculpture and Ms. Jaismeen Kaur (Punjab) for tapestry received appreciation certificates.

Madam Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia congratulated all the winners. A musical presentation of ‘Soaring High is my nature’ which is the motto of Apeejay Education was presented which mesmerized the entire gathering. Dr. Sunit Kaur expressed her vote of thanks during the conclusion of the splendid evening and expressed her gratitude towards each and every person who had contributed in making this evening special and successful.
