Jalandhar July 8 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Under the ‘Disha- an Initiative’ run by the Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, the members of the Saanjh Kendra made the teachers aware at Innocent Hearts, Green Model Town about the growing criminal activities in the society. Inspector Gurdeep Lal told about the work being done by Saanjh Kendra and how people can be helped by it. He told different helpline numbers issued by Saanjh Kendra related to different problems.
If teachers or any woman/girl in their family are facing any such problem, then they can contact to Saanjh Kendra. He asked them to contact on number 181 for protection against domestic violence against women. He gave various information related to making passport, identification of people living on rent and Aadhar card. He said that it is mandatory to have a police clearance certificate before going abroad. He also gave information about RBI Sachet App to be alert from frauds happening through WhatsApp, Net Banking, ATM and other online services.
He advised them to follow the traffic rules while walking on the road that along with the speed limit, traffic lights should also be taken care of while driving. He apprised about the various services provided by the Women Help Desk. He advised the teachers to contact immediately by giving the helpline number (1930) for the increasing criminal activities on the road. If a woman is outside the house and she does not have any means of commuting, she can take help by using the helpline number (1091) which has been issued to help her. Inspector Gurdeep Lal, Inspector Sanjeev Banot, Head Constable Smt. Sonia (PPMM) were present on the occasion.
